On October 15, 2024, the highly anticipated 2024 Gree Guangxi Cycling World Tour officially began in the vibrant city of Fangchenggang. The 2024 Gree Guangxi Cycling World Tour is a top-tier cycling event recognized by the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale). The men's competition runs from October 15 to 20, while the women's race is scheduled for October 20.

This year’s tour comprises six stages, covering a total distance of 1,021.8 kilometers across cities like Fangchenggang, Chongzuo, Baise, Hechi, Laibin, and Nanning. The race has attracted 19 world-class teams, including Emirates Team, Bora-Hansgrohe, and Soudal-Quick-Step. Notably, the Chinese national team returns for the second consecutive year, showcasing the country’s growing presence in international cycling.

Lionel Tamino's impressive tactical skills and speed helped him secure the stage win, earning him the Gree red jersey for the overall leader and the Wanda Hotels & Resorts blue jersey for the sprint champion. Additionally, Ethan Vernon from Israel-Premier Tech donned the Li Ning white jersey as the best young rider, while Stan Dewulf of Decathlon AG2R took home the combativity award for his outstanding efforts.

Looking ahead, the second stage will take place on October 16, featuring a challenging 181.5-kilometer route from Chongzuo to Jingxi, which includes two intermediate sprints and two third-category climbs.
